Denton High School gearing up for Earth Day with volunteers, students, community members on April 19 These hands-on activities filled volunteer and student event on Earth Day — April 19 at Denton High School will allow student/youth to gain an appreciation of both the local environment and their ability to make a positive impact.
From 10 AM to 2 PM, the event will offer kids green projects that will teach, nurture and give back to their community. From planting trees to cleaning up local parks, participants can roll up their sleeves and join with others in the community to advocate for a cleaner and greener planet.
We are excited for this Earth Day event and for students and volunteers to unite in making a difference, Denton High School event coordinator. “It’s a great opportunity to educate the younger generation as to why sustainability is important and bring the local community together to create real impact in the local environment.”
What to Expect at the Event
There were various activities that kept students and volunteers engaged in the Earth Day celebration. Participants will work on eco-projects such as:
- This activity aims to work with Volunteers and students to plant trees in and around the school building and in local public spaces to enable green growth while promoting biodiversity.
- Local Litter Collection Community Services will come together to clean parks and neighborhoods, minimizing waste and providing cleaner and healthier habitats.
- Education Workshops hosted by local sustainability experts that Instagram attendees on different aspects of sustainable practices range from composting to upcycle art, allowing them to take actionable steps to lead greener lives.
The events open to any locals, but we are especially keen to hear from students. Students can also earn community service hours hands-on experience of environmental conservation.”
How to Get Involved
In celebrating this annual Earth Day event, Denton High School invites our community to sign up online to join in. Registration helps ensure everything runs smoothly and helps the organizers coordinate the right number of volunteers and materials for the activities. Individual or groups of volunteers may register, with a particular focus on students.
